How is Perlite Plaster Mortar Prepared?
Perlite plaster mortar is obtained by mixing specific ratios of perlite, cement, and additives with water.
Mixing Ratios
For a standard perlite plaster mortar:
- 3 bags of perlite
- 1 bag of cement
- 4.5 – 5 cans (containers) of water
- 1 can (container) of coarse sand (plaster additive)
All materials should be mixed until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.
What Should the Mortar Consistency Be?
The prepared mortar should:
- Be non-fluid (not runny)
- Be easily applicable with a trowel
- Have a consistency that can adhere to the surface
