Acoustic Plaster
What Is Acoustic Perlite Plaster?
Acoustic perlite plaster is an acoustic and thermal insulation plaster applied directly to wall and ceiling surfaces, containing expanded perlite. Perlite is a natural volcanic rock that becomes lightweight and porous when heated, providing both sound absorption and thermal insulation thanks to this structure.
Key Properties
- Sound absorption and insulation: Its porous structure absorbs sound waves and reduces sound transmission between rooms or to the outside, making it effective for noise control in interior spaces.
- Thermal insulation: The perlite content helps reduce heat loss and improves energy efficiency.
- Lightweight: It is applied without adding significant dead load to the structure and is suitable on concrete blocks, gas concrete, brick, and light aggregate block surfaces.
- Fire resistance: Due to its natural inorganic composition it is non‑combustible and acts as a protective barrier in case of fire.
- Easy application: It can be applied by hand or machine, offering a practical and fast plastering solution.
Usage Areas
- Used as a base plaster in interior spaces where high acoustic and thermal insulation performance is required (offices, residential buildings, studios, movie theaters, and hotels).
- Applied on concrete, gas concrete, perlite blocks, and similar substrates to provide both surface leveling and acoustic protection.
